Scan credits are the units AI models use to process text. As a rough guide, 1 token ≈ 4 characters or about ¾ of a word in English. A 1,000-word document is roughly 750–800 tokens. Different models consume tokens at slightly different rates — you can see per-model pricing in the app.
No — your credits are yours forever. They sit in your account balance and never expire or decrease unless you actually use them. Buy in bulk and use them at your own pace, even months later.
